Our approach is simple: fewer elements, natural materials, and objects that bring a sense of calm into everyday spaces.
Our first collection, Gong (空), begins with the idea of emptiness.
Just as an empty space allows something new to enter, the collection was conceived around the feeling of leaving a busy routine behind and spending time in open nature. The sea, mountains, light and quiet encountered while travelling became the starting point for the collection.
Made from natural textiles including mosi, oksa and chupo, the pieces reinterpret the simple geometric construction of jogakbo.
Each piece is carefully finished using kkaekki, a traditional sewing technique commonly used in hanbok making. The narrow, precise seams create quiet lines across the translucent fabric while allowing the natural texture of each material to remain visible.
Designed as textile screens, the pieces can be hung by a window, placed against a wall, or used to softly divide a space.
Rather than completely blocking the view, they allow light to pass through the fabric, revealing its weave, texture and subtle irregularities throughout the day.
Gong is the first collection from ONZEN — and the beginning of our exploration of natural living objects.
